In addition, a survey of over 20,000 parents done by the National Center of Education Statistics found that where fathers were involved in their children’s education, children were more likely to enjoy school, get better grades and participate in extracurricular activities.

In certain situations, a father’s rights can be severely violated. Parental alienation or parental alienation syndrome (PAS) is a disorder that has manifested itself from custody disputes. The target is often the non-custodial parent, which in many cases happens to be the father. When one spouse denigrates the other in front of their children with the intent to brainwash, it leads to father-child bonds being tested as the child exhibits negative behavior and resists a relationship with their father.
